We’ll leave by coach from Breisach with our tour guide to visit the charming village of Eguisheim. Enjoy a stroll around the ancient city walls and discover the village's quaint streets full of lovely, colorful half-timbered homes. Keep an eye out for the stork nests propped high on homes and belfries.
Afterwards, we’ll travel by coach to a farmhouse inn for a traditional local lunch. Everything during the meal is made with fresh farm produce: pot pies, smoked meats, old-fashioned potatoes, Munster cheese, and huckleberry pie.
We’ll spend the afternoon traveling along the Alsatian Wine Route. You will see a myriad of well-known places, including Albert Schweitzer’s birthplace, Kaysersberg; Bergheim, known for its witch trials; Ribeauvillé, the City of Fiddlers; and Riquewihr, in the heart of the vineyards. We’ll stop at a wine cellar on the Wine Route to taste* the famous white wines of Alsace. After our tour, we’ll return on board the ship in Breisach.
