Shipowner since 1990
In 1990, thanks to its success, the company Alsace Cruises opted for the status of shipowner and built its first boat: the MS Liberté. This elegant ship predetermined the fleet that would be born, and which today has 50 ships around the world. MS Liberté sailed on the Rhine and its tributaries, where it all began.
The ships which were built in Namur, Belgium, in St-Nazaire, France and in Ho Chin Minh City, Vietnam (Triyards) were designed by the respective shipbuilding companies and began arriving arrive one after the other. The destinations offered were now also expanding at the same rate: Rhône, Saône, Danube and the Seine.
In addition to the freedom to sail the ship as it saw fit, the shipowner now had control of the fleet from end to end: from construction, marketing, logistics and most importantly, control of all services offered on board.
Result: Alsace Croisières offered one of the best value for money products in the market.
